Project Overview

The Pullman Community Center consisted of the construction of a new 135,000 S.F. highbay building to accommodate a youth sports and learning center in Chicago’s south side Pullman neighborhood. Raffin worked in cooperation with the alderman’s office, the developer, and the design build team to design and construct a facility that met the needs of the community while keeping under the owner’s $10 million budget.

The construction team, working with the developer, met the stringent documentation required by the bank/government consortium that helped finance the project. The building was constructed using a number of quality MBE/WBE contractors, on schedule and within budget while achieving LEED certification. The facility consists of three artificial turf sports fields, three full size basketball courts, batting cages, and interior rooms for tutoring, concessions, bathrooms, and more.
